What “reader-supported” means
When you click certain links on this site and go on to sign up for or buy a product, we may earn a commission from the vendor. This is standard practice for affiliate marketing and is how we fund the cost of testing paid accounts, running comparisons, and keeping this site running without a paywall or intrusive ads.
This commission costs you nothing extra. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go directly to the vendor’s site — in some cases, our link even unlocks a discount that isn’t available otherwise.
What this does not do
Affiliate relationships never influence:
- The score a product receives in our review
- Whether we recommend a product at all
- What we write about a product’s weaknesses
- The order in which products appear in comparison tables
We have turned down affiliate partnerships for products that scored poorly in testing, and we have published critical reviews of products we have active affiliate relationships with. Our editorial team and our business relationships are kept separate.
How we test before we recommend
Every product reviewed on AffiliatesMaker is set up with a real account — usually paid, sometimes an extended trial when a paid option isn’t available for review purposes. We use the product for its intended purpose, contact support with a genuine question, and document what happens, good or bad.
Which links are affiliate links
Most outbound links to third-party software, hosting providers, and deal platforms on this site are affiliate links. Links to informational sources (news articles, documentation, competitor sites we don’t have a partnership with) are not.
